Please Mandate Medical Cannabis Patients’ Right to Firearms
For the past five years, the police departments in Hawaii have been denying firearm permits
to medical cannabis patients based on a misinterpretation of the law. In a recent communication
with the Hawaii Police Department regarding the specific laws that allows the police to deny a
patient their second amendment right to firearms, they explained the specific laws they are
enforcing regarding firearm registration:
